30-Year Voice of NAU Mitch Strohman retires, takes on new role for Lumberjacks


VIDEO – Eliav Gabay sat down with Northern Arizona University great in former Voice of the Lumberjacks Mitch Strohman.

After three decades behind the microphone for NAU, he knew it was time to retire and ride off into the sunset…or so he thought.

The Athletics Department reached out about a unique opportunity to stick around the program he loves dearly – Strohman became the football team truck driver, He also helps handle game day operations.

Strohman discussed the moment he got the offer, what his wife thought about it, and how much it meant to him.

Not to mention, Strohman gives a warm shout out to his successor in new Voice of NAU: James Malamas.
