1. Reece Walsh – 8.5

You can lock Walsh in for the No 1 jersey for the World Cup semi final next week.

As good as Teddy was last week against Fiji, Walsh won’t be surrendering the fullback spot after this performance.

Easily Australia’s most dangerous player with four try assists, two line breaks and two line break assists.

Too classy for the opposition, and don’t forget Walsh was also the difference in the opening game against the Kiwis.

2. Jack Bostock – 8

What a player this young Dolphin has become after another top-notch performance.

Strong carries out of his own end, took some great catches under the high ball, and throw in three tries from 17 runs for 191 metres.

3. Kotoni Staggs – 6.5

An improved performance from the Broncos powerhouse. Got himself a try and probably did enough to lock up the right centre spot given Kevvie Walters has picked him in all three games so far.

4. Bradman Best – 6

Did his share of the hard yards but just not sure it was enough to prove why Best should be starting next week ahead of Latrell Mitchell at left centre. It’s a big decision for Kevvie given tries will be a lot harder to come from here on.

5. Tom Trbojevic – 7.5

Scored a hat trick and had some really good touches. Did drop one bomb in the first half but overall a very solid effort.

6. Cameron Munster – 7

Bit of a slow start but found his groove as the game wore on. You know Munster is on when he starts running the ball and he finished with nine runs for 93m.

Also took over the goal kicking duties and landed five from seven.

7. Tom Dearden – 7.5

Had a cracking game with two try assists and some really quality touches. Has surely done enough to cement the No 7 jumper ahead of Sam Walker.

This was the best Australia’s halves have looked all tournament and Dearden just looks really comfortable playing alongside Munster.

8. Pat Carrigan – 6

Can’t knock his effort but Carrigan copped some pretty heavy knocks in his first stint and not sure he did enough to confirm he should be a starting front rower in finals. Finished with eight runs for 77m and 14 tackles.

9. Harry Grant – 7.5

Classy performance overall. But it must be said Harry was guilty of overplaying his hand on a few occasions early in the game. While those mistakes can get glossed over after a 66-6 win, they need to tidy it up for next week or it could come back to bite Australia against the better opposition.

10. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui – 7

Scored two tries with some powerful carries and finished with 12 runs for 134m that included eight tackle busts, along with 27 tackles.

11. Jacob Preston – 8

Australia’s best forward. Had some barnstorming carries, bagged a try and finished with the most metres of the forwards with 12 runs for 149m.

12. Liam Martin – 7.5

Did what is expected of him. Played tough with and without the ball. Was stood up on the tryline for Cook Islands’ only try.

13. Isaah Yeo – 6

Solid effort from the Australian skipper before he was replaced early in the second half to give Ethan Strange some game time. No frills but did his job.

14. Ethan Strange – 7

Looked right at home as soon he entered the game playing the ball playing lock role. Made a strong case to stay in the squad for the semi final next week.

15. Keaon Koloamatangi – 7

Did all he could to get promoted into the starting front row for the finals with 15 runs for 146m.

17. Reuben Cotter – 6.5

Brought some much-needed energy off the bench when he came into the game. Just the seven runs for 69m but it was all effort.

18. Lindsay Smith – 5

Just the three runs for 17m and seven tackles.

19. James Tedesco – N/A

22. David Fifita – N/A
