Canelo v M’billi | Sunday November 1 from 5am AEDT | Pound-for-pound superstar Canelo Alvarez faces off against WBC super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli | Order now on Kayo Sports.
At 36, Alvarez is looking to add another chapter to an extraordinary career.
But after more than a year out of the ring and surgery on his left elbow, he faces a demanding comeback against a relentless opponent.
For M’billi, it is the opportunity to turn an unbeaten record into a career-defining victory against one of boxing’s biggest names.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of their world title showdown.
WHEN IS IT?
Australian broadcast will begin at 1am on Sunday November 1 and finish at 5am AEDT.
HOW TO WATCH ALVAREZ VS M’BILLI
You can watch the fight on Main Event on Kayo Sports or on DAZN AU.
HOW MUCH DOES CANELO HAVE LEFT?
You just never know how a fighter is going to respond following a loss — even a legend like Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
Alvarez hasn’t fought since soundly losing the undisputed super middleweight crown to Terence Crawford via unanimous decision in September 2025.
The next month, he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow. The Mexican sensation is returning from the longest layoff of his career.
These compounded factors would make it difficult for any 36-year-old, let alone one who counts nearly 70 professional bouts of wear to his ledger.
Clearing these mental and physical hurdles are tough asks as they are. Stopping a bullish M’billi spells the rest of this complexity, which includes a bit of the unknown.
NONSTOP MOTOR
Christian M’billi has proved bout after bout that he’s willing to come forward, barge into opponents’ kitchens, ravage their cabinets, and remain front and center for the duration of the fight.
During DAZN’s “Face Off” segment, Alvarez said: “I love that style because it’s going to be a lot of action and you can fight a better fight.”
However, even the iconic four-division world champion might sing a different tune when faced with M’billi’s unrelenting pressure.
The ferocity in his activity is aided by a nonstop motor fueled by peak conditioning.
Coming off a loss and subsequent surgery, Alvarez handling this kind of demanding fighter is a difficult challenge … even for a king.

A GRANITE CHIN
Heading into this blockbuster world title fight, M’billi and Alvarez have something in common — neither man has ever been knocked down.
Watching M’billi’s last fight against a rugged Lester Martinez is major proof that the champ is able to eat heavy-handed punches, regroup and still come forward.
M’billi has the mettle and resolve that will make it hard for Alvarez to hurt and that could pave the way for a war of attrition this weekend.
WHAT IS M’BILLI PREDICTING?
Christian M’billi believes he has caught Alvarez at the right time — and has promised to make the Mexican superstar regret sharing the ring with him.
“It’s perfect timing for me to beat him,” M’billi said.
“I’m a very dangerous fighter for him, but I have to be careful, he’s Canelo.
“I’m going to put more pressure, more combinations, I’m going to work my defence too.
“He will regret being in the ring.”
That approach should give Alvarez opportunities to land his trademark counters. But M’billi is backing his pressure and punching power to overwhelm the former undisputed champion.
“It will be 200% Christian M’billi,” the Frenchman said.
“My aggression, my pressure, he’s never fought someone who punches like me and I think I’m going to destroy him.”
