For NBL SuperCoach players, there will still be plenty of frustration along the way, particularly when it comes to trades and unpredictable performances.

However, Round 6 presents one of the best captaincy opportunities of the season so far, with one superstar emerging as the overwhelming favourite among the community experts.

BUY

SC_BOZ: Makuach Maluach (SYD) | $191,000 (+$27.3k)

Matthew Dellavedova still nursing a calf, Maluach as a starter is serious value. Showed he can score very well when given the minutes and role. Low BE and only coming in at $191k. Not too late!

Walshy News: Nate Hinton (BRI) | $313,200 (+$13.8k)

With Arnas Velička out and Brisbane potentially without Tyrell Harrison and Jacob Holt, I’m expecting Nate Hinton to step up and go big in their absence. With Brisbane heading into 4 double rounds, he’s an easy lock for me.

usageratepod: Max Mackinnon (BRI) | $227,700 (+$17.5k)

Priced at 228k, a schedule of 4x doubles, a BE of 22 and an average of 30. Set and forget.

Mattrix (Baseline Jumper): Carlin Davison (NZL) | $229,600 (+$66.5k)

Carlin Davison on a single! Money talks and that negative BE needs to be taken advantage of. Even if it means not having everyone on a double, it is worth taking a hit this week.

HOLD

SC_BOZ: Sam Mennenga (NZL) | $356,800 (+$54.5k)

Haven’t the last two rounds been nice! Mennenga back to his best. Crashing the boards, hitting threes and playing bully ball inside. You can confidently play this guy on a single in his current form and with a BE of 15 and a double next week. Keep him!

Walshy News: Will Magnay (TAS) | $358,800 (+$2.0k)

Having a great season, Magnay is an easy hold for me. With the upcoming single/double rounds and a matchup against Brisbane potentially without Tyrell Harrison and Jacob Holt, I’m backing him to have a massive round.

usageratepod: Jonah Bolden (CNS) | $242,600 (+$33.1k)

The cash is still rising with a breakeven of -2 and two doubles are on the horizon in Round 7 and 8. A great bench option to keep if you can.

Mattrix (Baseline Jumper): Anthony Dell’Orso (PER) | $231,000 (-$0.7k)

He scored 20 points in an absolute beat down, the troops will come back and Perth’s schedule gets unreal soon! Having an extra Perth asset for that run in a few weeks will be invaluable. Hold him on your bench and reap the benefits later!

SELL

SC_BOZ: Johny Narkle (ILL) | $115,500 (-$9.0k)

Now is your time to move on from Narkle. Only another 4 minutes in his game on Sunday. BE of 30+, cut your losses and get him up to a Maluach!

Walshy News: David Johnson (TAS) | $233,300 (+$6.6k)

Only brought him in for one week, and he didn’t lose me any money. After his first game, I was starting to think it was the wrong move, but his second game made me feel a little better.

usageratepod: Nick Rakocevic (ADE) | $348,200 (-$1.2k)

The juice is no longer worth the squeeze. The horrid schedule is here with only 1 double in the next 5 weeks. The price has also maxed with his BE sitting just 1 below his average. Thanks for your service Nickolas.

Power Rankings: Surprise packet keeps climbing as title hopefuls struggle; big concern for contender

Mattrix (Baseline Jumper): Dash Daniels | $180,200 (-$13.7k)

I wanted him to be a 200k guy and he just isn’t. He has become a passenger in offence and has struggled since Sobey has come in. At this price he’s easy to get to someone else. Don’t be stubborn. Trade now.

CAPTAIN

SC_BOZ: Kendric Davis (SYD) | $413,300 (-$15.2k)

usageratepod: Kendric Davis (SYD) | $413,300 (-$15.2k)

Back to the well. Although Illawarra did a number on Bryce Cotton, they still give up 39 to captain option guards. Melbourne only give up 29 but we can lock in Davis for 75+ for the week as a safe play.

Mattrix (Baseline Jumper): Kendric Davis (SYD) | $413,300 (-$15.2k)

Davis is the obvious safe choice this week. He has upside and kings are rolling. I expect another 80-90 and with the teams that are on doubles this week it isn’t the week to pod captain.

Walshy News: Kendric Davis (SYD) | $413,300 (-$15.2k)

It’s a no-brainer to captain Davis this week. He comes up against the Hawks and United, who are both in poor form. Hard to look past him as captain!

THE EXPERTS HAVE SPOKEN

There is no debate among the community experts this week, with all four selecting Sydney Kings superstar Kendric Davis as their captain for Round 6.

And it appears the wider SuperCoach community agrees.

Davis is currently the most popular captaincy selection, with 33.7% of the competition backing the Kings guard, while Adelaide 36ers superstar Bryce Cotton sits second at 12.9%.

However, for SuperCoach players chasing the leaders and needing to make up ground, this could also be an opportunity to go against the popular choice.

Melbourne United star Cole Anthony presents an alternative captaincy option for those willing to take a risk, although overlooking Davis could prove costly if the Kings guard delivers another dominant round.

Elsewhere, Brisbane Bullets forward Max Mackinnon has emerged as the most popular trade target heading into Round 6.

Currently, 16.2% of the competition has traded in Mackinnon, with Brisbane’s upcoming stretch of four double-game rounds making him an attractive option for SuperCoach players looking to maximise points.

With injuries also impacting the Bullets’ rotation, there could be further opportunities for players such as Nate Hinton to take on greater responsibility and increase their SuperCoach output.

With plenty of trades still to be made and several favourable schedules approaching, Round 6 could prove an important opportunity for SuperCoach players to climb the overall rankings.

For those yet to sign up for NBL SuperCoach, there’s still plenty of time to get involved, with weekly prizes of $500 up for grabs.
