Richard James Burgess and his son Ace Burgess have officially launched AudioNumber and Interline Media Group, two intertwined ventures designed to bring advanced data intelligence to music rights valuation and publishing administration.

Richard, chairman of both companies, recently wrapped ten years as president and CEO of the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) and is current chairman of the UK’s PPL. Ace, president and CEO of the new ventures, previously led engineering teams as vp of engineering at Tunecore.

AudioNumber provides the analytics and valuation tools that help catalog investors and rights-holders identify undervalued assets and optimize catalogs; Interline then uses that technology to enhance publishing administration and maximize royalty recovery for artists and songwriters on the roster.

Since launching last year, Interline says it has secured multiple administration agreements, partnered with leading catalog funds, and recovered “tens of thousands” in previously uncollected royalties.

“We built AudioNumber for the people and companies who can truly use deep data to move the needle,” said Ace. “It isn’t just about automation and systems; it’s about understanding each songwriter’s unique situation and aligning our interests. Technology should remove friction, not relationships — it should free us to focus more time on the human side of the business.”

Added Richard: “By pairing high-impact intelligence with hands-on administration, we’re generating new value for artists while providing essential insight to investors and rights-holders who need actionable, decision-ready analysis.”
