If there were a Mt. Rushmore of movie directors, Steven Spielberg would undoubtedly be on it.
The legendary filmmaker essentially created the modern blockbuster with 1975’s ‘Jaws‘ and has since helmed such iconic films as ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,’ ‘Jurassic Park,’ ‘The Color Purple,’ ‘Minority Report,’ ‘Catch Me If You Can,’ ‘Lincoln,’ ‘Schindler’s List,’ and ‘Saving Private Ryan.’ The latter two earned Spielberg Academy Awards for Best Director and helped cement his status as one of the most influential filmmakers in cinema history.
Spielberg now returns to the sci-fi genre with ‘Disclosure Day,’ starring Emily Blunt and opening in theaters on June 12th.
