Sony Music has elevated longtime legal exec Stephanie Yu to general counsel and EVP of business and legal affairs.
(Now-former general counsel Julie Swidler has founded a company called Launchpad Advisors, which aims to equip “creators, artists, technologists and entrepreneurs with expertise to build, accelerate and sustain success in the music and media sector.”)
FCC
Danielle Thumann, currently senior counsel to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr, has been nominated to serve as an FCC commissioner.
Triangle Group
Triangle Group has welcomed Roger Field, previously Live Nation’s APAC president, as executive director and operating partner.
Asobisystem
Asobisystem has launched a Culver City-headquartered U.S. division, which founder and CEO Yusuke Nakagawa will lead while continuing to oversee global operations.
Music Venue Trust
The MVT has formally announced several promotions, elevating Toni Coe-Brooker (who’s been part of the team since 2020) to campaigns and comms manager; Rebecca Walker to live projects manager; and UniteVerse co-founder Adrian Norman to financial controller.
Additionally, Denzil Thomas is in place as partnerships manager, Sophie Asquith is aboard as venue support manager, and Chris Hurne recently joined as head of external affairs.

Former Spotify content and advertising comms head Jenny Tartikoff will begin as SiriusXM’s own comms head this coming Monday, August 10th.
