Noah Reyes was injured three weeks ago making a tackle against Eastmark.
He had to be sent to the hospital for multiple emergency surgeries as his C5 had a burst fracture, which led to fragments of it spreading into his spinal canal.
His mom, Kristina, works at Desert Banner in Mesa as an emergency pediatric nurse, which is where Reyes was transported to. She was on a flight when she received the news, and immediately let her staff know to get him the best care right away, while urgently looking for flights home.
The injury Reyes suffered usually leaves people paralyzed from the waist down…
Reyes attended Mesquite’s game against Snowflake. While walking with a neck brace and helping deliver the coin toss, which was a surprise set up by head coach Jesse Hart.
The Mesquite community is doing a lot for him and his family. They’ve created a meal train, bracelets, fundraisers and more.
There is still a long road ahead for full recovery.
