Shakira’s historic European residency concludes after 13 shows and over 700,000 fans in one of the most ambitious live music events in Europe.
Shakira has concluded her historic European residency, completing 13 monumental shows and welcoming over 700,000 fans to the Spanish capital in one of the most ambitious live music events ever staged in Europe. The residency generated an economic impact exceeding $200 million, driving greater demand for tourism and accommodation bookings than major events such as Formula 1 and Pope Leo XIV’s visit.
Throughout the residency, the global superstar shared major moments with an impressive lineup of artists, including Dua Lipa, Laura Pausini, Alejandro Sanz, Maluma, Beéle, Manuel Turizo, Dani Martin, and Bizarrap, celebrating the power and global influence of Latin music.
Shakira debuted at #1 on Pollstar’s LIVE75 chart for September, driven by box-office results from the first nine shows of her 13-date Madrid residency as part of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The first nine performances sold a combined 452,097 tickets, an average of 50,233 fans per show, securing the top spot. Globally, the tour has surpassed 4 million tickets sold and $534 million in reported box-office revenue, further cementing its position as the highest-grossing Latin tour of all time.
Madrid became the epicenter of this historic achievement with the creation of Shakira City, a new 185,000-square-meter cultural destination known as Macondo Park, featuring a purpose-built stadium designed by architecture firm BIG and named in Shakira’s honor.
Through ES LATINA, Shakira transformed a concert residency into an immersive celebration of music, art, literature, fashion, and gastronomy. The event brought together over 1,500 artists and performers from around the world and delivered over 400 hours of cultural programming while generating significant economic and cultural impact across the city.
The residency also delivered a historic Amazon Music milestone, setting a new record for the platform’s most-watched livestream music performance by a female artist. Shakira has not only broken records with a groundbreaking tour; she has also redefined what a global artist can achieve.
