With an eye on expanding his presence in markets throughout Asia, Kaskade has inked an exclusive partnership deal with Ne-Yo’s Pacific Music Group (PMG).
The veteran DJ and the Hong Kong-headquartered “next-generation music company” reached out to DMN with word of their tie-up, which will see PMG serve as the artist’s “strategic partner across all Asian territories.”
According to Pacific Music, which Ne-Yo, Sonu Nigam, MC Jin, and Jonathan Serbin established last year, it’ll specifically handle Kaskade’s media relations and more as it pursues “long-term market development and brand collaborations tailored to each territory.”
Among these territories are “key markets” such as Japan, South Korea, and China, “where demand for electronic music continues to grow,” according to PMG.
And while time will reveal the precise nature of these efforts, Pacific Music also operates dance label Ghostone Records. In PMG’s own words, the indie’s chief goals include “fostering cross-border collaborations” and “connecting Asia’s electronic music scene with the global market.”
The objectives are certainly worth keeping in mind given today’s deal – as is the broader music-sector expansion, not just EDM growth, occurring in China and to a lesser extent the other above-noted markets.
“I’ve had a deep connection with Asia for decades, ever since I lived there for a few years,” added Kaskade. “When I get to use music to connect with the crowds across Asia, it’s such an amazing experience, and I always walk away with the deepest respect for the energy these crowds bring.
“Partnering with Pacific Music Group gives me the chance to build something even stronger which I’m excited about. I’m ready to get reconnected with fans who have supported this journey for years.”
On the opposite side of the agreement, PMG CEO Jonathan Serbin touted Kaskade’s having “consistently set the standard for artistic excellence and innovation, helping elevate dance music into a global cultural force” throughout his career.
“His vision aligns perfectly with our mission of partnering with world-class artists who continue to shape the future of music,” Serbin proceeded. “We are thrilled to welcome Kaskade to Pacific Music Group and are excited to support his next era with a truly global strategy that spans A&R, brand partnerships, and new creative opportunities.”
Closer to 2026’s start, Pacific Music signed AI-powered “hybrid artist” TaTa Taktumi under a deal with Timbaland’s Stage Zero. Though they haven’t quite caught on globally, AI acts are apparently rather popular in China, where Warner Music in June partnered with avatar specialist Dream Maker.
