Paul Gallen has fired up over the “s*** sandwich” he has copped as a result of the Cronulla supplements saga, revealing he knows the person who is “100 per cent responsible”.

Gallen v Asofa-Solomona | Friday November 6 from 7pm AEDT | Australian sporting icon and crossover boxing king Paul Gallen returns to the ring to face his biggest opponent yet, Nelson ‘Big Nasty’ Asofa-Solomona. | Order now on Kayo Sports.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona lit the fuse for his fight against Gallen earlier in the week when he taunted the former Cronulla skipper over the club’s peptides scandal.

Gallen and 15 of his teammates plead guilty in 2014 to unknowingly taking banned substances and accepted backdated 12-month bans.

Then Sharks coach Shane Flanagan was also banned for 12 months while sports scientist Stephen Dank was banned for life.

Gallen was reportedly paid out $700,000 by the club to stop him from suing them for what happened during the scandal, which he became the poster boy for.

It was clearly a sore point for Gallen when quizzed about Asofa-Solomona’s comments after Wednesday’s press conference, with the NRL legend declaring he was given a “s*** sandwich”.

“What do you want me to say about it? 15 years ago what happened at Cronulla happened, I can’t change it. I am the pin up boy for it I suppose you’d say,” Gallen told Main Event’s Ben Damon.

“Unfortunately of all the players the issue happened with I’m the only one ever spoken about. “(It’s) very, very frustrating that I was there. I know exactly what happened I know the person who is 100 per cent responsible for what happened and they live their life and don’t have to stand here answering questions 15 years later, it frustrates me to hell.

“It was a s*** sandwich we got given and life goes on mate. 15 years ago, what can I do.”

What Gallen can do is continue to make a name for himself in the ring instead, and he will do just that on Friday when he faces Asofa-Solomona
