The light-hearted moment came as Samoa demolished the Kumuls by 50 points to all but cement their spot in the semi-finals.
Melbourne Storm fullback Sua Fa’alogo was among the stars, equalising the record for most tries by a Samoan player in a single World Cup campaign.
Meanwhile, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Shawn Blore both crossed for doubles and seven other players crossed the line for tries.
Reflecting on the atmosphere of playing in front of a sold-out stadium in Papua New Guinea, Paulo was lost for words.
He described the scenes as some of the best he has ever witnessed throughout his professional rugby league career.

“Seeing the kids and the smiles on their faces you just can’t get that anywhere else besides here.
“We’ve got a lot of guys who are new to this experience, but it was all about soaking it all in and enjoying the experience as well.
“Once we got out there, seeing a packed Santos stadium, it’s one of the best things.”
The laughs returned later in the press-conference when the veteran forward as asked if the atmosphere would be even better for a home team such as the PNG Chiefs.
“Might have to ask Romey (Jarome Luai) that question,” he chuckled.
