New Single • Small Notions EP — out November 27, 2026. London, UK, via Paris, France.

Formed in Paris in 2023 before relocating to London, Spanish Horses draw on art-rock, psychedelia and slacker-rock influences. The quintet’s debut EP, Small Notions, was written with the intention of creating change and moving forward. Released on October 27 through So Young Records, “City I Believe” is its final preview. It captures that ambition through a louder, more forceful approach than the band’s preceding singles.

Propulsive drums, punchy guitar riffs and prominent harmonica give “City I Believe” its muscular character. Soaring choruses supply immediate hooks, while an off-centre edge keeps the arrangement from feeling too orderly. The combination brings an Americana flavour into the band’s scrappier indie-rock framework.

Frontman Tom Onezime explains that this was the first song written for the EP after a long break, beginning with a simple intention to get loud and clear the cobwebs. That account supports a reading of the song as creative release, although it does not establish a specific lyrical narrative. Its energy fits the wider EP’s stated desire to break out of stagnation and make something happen.

A fresh start can begin through action before it becomes a fully formed plan. “City I Believe” gives that idea a musical expression: volume, rhythm and collective playing become ways of recovering momentum. Its directness makes the impulse accessible without requiring a tidy resolution.

For Spanish Horses, that sense of renewal connects with a project formed after earlier bands dissolved and subsequently rebuilt in another city. “City I Believe” makes starting again sound like an opportunity to be seized together.
