Having enjoyed its biggest hit this year with ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ Sony is clearly looking to stay in the Tom Holland business (no, not the alcohol-free beer side hustle, the movies).
Deadline brings news that the studio has snapped up the rights to ‘Penthouse,’ a new, original thriller that will feature a script by ‘Iron Man 3’ co-writer Drew Pearce, who plans to make it his next directorial outing after ‘Hotel Artemis’ in 2018.
All involved are positioning it as a starring role for Holland, who will produce alongside Pearce.

What’s the story of ‘Penthouse’?

Sure to set off some interesting google searches/ChatGPT requests (kids… maybe don’t ask your parents), ‘Penthouse’ is being kept quiet for now, plot-wise, besides the description of it as a thriller.
Perhaps it’ll feature Holland trying to ward off terrorists who turn out to be thieves and who have taken over a high rise? It’ll be ‘Die Hard’ meets… Hang on, that actually just sounds like ‘Die Hard.’
Where else can we see Tom Holland?

Right now, Holland has his dancing shoes on, filming a yet-to-be-titled Fred Astaire biopic that will co-star Sabrina Carpenter and Margaret Qualley.
He’s also aboard ‘The Partner,’ about a lawyer from New Orleans steals $90 million dollars from his law firm after he fakes his own death.
