Alex Volkanovski makes his long-awaited return to the Octagon on Sunday, with the superstar taking on Movsar Evloev in a blockbuster showdown in Abu Dhabi at UFC 333.

The Australian beat Diego Lopes in his last two outings, but faces a brutal test in Russian Evloev, who Max Holloway explained he “likes a lot”.

However, Holloway has gone down to Volkanovski on three occasions and he knows first hand just how good the UFC legend truly is — slamming those doubting the champion fighter.

UFC 333: Volkanovski v Evloev | SUN 25 OCTOBER 5AM AEDT | The UFC returns to Abu Dhabi where Volkanovski is seeking his 7th successful title defence in a highly anticipated match up against the undefeated Movsar Evloev. | Order now on Kayo Sports.

“With Volkanovski being Volkanovski, I think is a great matchup for him with Volk’s biggest concern being damage, taking damage,” Holloway said on his YouTube channel.

“That’s his biggest concern lately. I like Evloev a lot. I know a lot of people keep talking about Movsar’s wrestling. It just blows my mind.

“I know he fought Islam twice, and I know everyone just thinks of the second one, like the first one never happened.

“Alexander Volkanovski was wrestling with one of the best 155-pound wrestlers in the world.

“I know Movsar is a beast. He’s 20-0, but again Alex Volkanovski is just a different animal. I really think people are sleeping on Alex Volkanovski.”

Evloev comes into this bout undefeated, having bested Lerone Murphy, Aljamain Sterling and Arnold Allen in his last three bouts, dating way back to January 2024.
